Forever Blowing Bubbles

I seem to have too many people that are West Ham fans and it is getting harder to think of ideas that incorporate both football and their colours.

I had this stamp which is Flippin' Stamps football and coloured it using Spectrum Noirs in West Ham colours.  Although I used their colours, I wanted to make it just a little different so did not copy their shirt exactly.

I then cut it out using the Spellbinders A2 Distressed Edges and coloured the edging with Distress inks in Salty Ocean and Seedless Preserves.

I then mounted this onto some Core'dinations card that I had embossed using the Crafts Too Football embossing Folder.  This was then mounted onto more Core'dinations card and as I did not have any ribbon that was the right combination of colour - put one of top of the other to create the colour scheme I wanted.  It also looked masculine in those colours.

As soon as I saw the Angelica and Friends - Felicity Stamp Set by Crafter's Companion that I had to buy it as it had the phrase "Forever Blowing bubbles" and I knew that I would get a lot of use out of that phrase.  I stamped it out onto on to card and also added Happy Birthday and then using one  of the smaller Labels 4 spellbinders, cut it out to form my sentiment.

Ships Aweigh!

I was really pleased when Sam Poole designed her Nautical Journey and Weigh Anchor set of stamps as it was nice to get some stamps that would work well both for males and females.

When buying her stamps, I also bought the Couture Creations embossing folder World Map which goes really well with her stamps but will also go well with lots of others.

I embossed a piece of blue paper with the World Map embossing folder and then coloured the raised parts with Distress Ink.  This was then mounted on to dark blue card.

I stamped the ship from the Weigh Anchor set onto white paper using Brilliance Starlight Silver and then coloured in using Distress inks.  I then cut out using the Spellbinders Circles, using the Out of The Box technique for the top of the ship so that I did not cut that part off.

I then stamped some compasses and ships wheels from the Nautical Journey set and the anchor from Weigh Anchor and again coloured with distress inks.

I put some ribbon that I had bought from Hobbycraft onto the card and then stamped a sentiment from Weigh Anchor onto white card and brushed over with watered down distress ink to give a streaky effect and cut out with Spellbinders Labels 21 and the mounted onto the card.

I think that this makes a lovely male card with lots of texture.

I then mounted this onto cream card and finished off by making blue pearls around the edges with Cosmic Shimmer Pearl PVA glue Teal Sky.

A Card for Christmas

I thought I would post the first of my Christmas cards for the year.  The receipient of this one will have received this by now so I can put it on the blog.

This is not the one everyone will be getting, that one won't go up until a few days after I have sent them all out.  This one was made using the Spellbinders label 4, Praising stamp plate from The Adorables Christmas Collection, greeting stamp Xmas Medallions Set 2 from and background paper from The Adorables Christmas Collection CD.  The ribbon is blue crinkly edge ribbon from Creative Expression and the pearls on the ribbon was added using Cosmic Shimmer Pearl PVA Glue.

The stained glass window was coloured using different distress inks and the choir boy was coloured in using Copic Pens.  The layering colour was obtained by using the same ivory card but colouring the card with Distress inks so that each lay is a different colour.

The corners were finished off with a corner punch - both on the main card and background car - and also on the insert which again was printed from the Adorables Christmas Collection CD.
